Almost Wordless Wednesday: Semi-Sweet
Feb 17th, 2010 by Marilyn
Over 20 Valentine’s together, but they’re not important days.

Everything that’s anything happens in between.
Make Mocha Brownies, and stamp shapes with any size heart-shaped cutter. You’ll have lovely brownies and also a grand snacking plate of in-between. This, as Josie will tell you, is easily the best part.

dark, intense beauties. happy almost wordless wednesday, dear M. x shayma
shhh…I am nibbling~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nom nom nom BEST way to give a gift and get one in return!! These look and sound fantastic, will have to try! No words needed so perfect! ;o)
Those were my favorites. And I knew better than to ask after the in-betweens.
I am not too proud to beg for scraps…
My favorite bit in the instructions provided with the recipe is where we are directed to gather and eat the scraps. IMMEDIATELY. What fabulous permission is there, to fully enjoy the fruits of labor combined with a sense you are simply making sure nothing is wasted, providing quality checks, etc etc etc…. I am fairly certain any calories so consumed will industriously and virtuously burn themselves seeing as they are not part of a dessert or treat but are the result of obediently following the steps of a recipe. Genius!
I always forget about the simple idea of using a cookie cutter on cake or bar cookies for holidays rather than cookies. And of course, you get bonus scraps that way as well. Although, I do love me some cookie dough scraps.
Love that image!
