This french toast looks so good, I'd consider elective oral surgery in order to earn it. I'm thinking my upcoming vacation is going to be filled with your recipes, my sweet friend. (French toast for breakfast, followed by peach pandowdy for lunch, maybe ice cream with caramel sauce for dinner?) Thank you for all the glorious food, and words.

My son had his wisdom teeth out earlier this week and is still subsisting on milk shakes. Maybe I could tempt him with some of this yummy French toast. If he won't eat it, I certainly will!

I'm not a Jell-O fan either. Never understood it. My parents are from Puerto Rico, so we weren't big gelatin eaters growing up. Jell-O doesn't last long in 80% humidity. Our wiggly-jiggly desserts appeared in the shape of flan or this absolutely wonderful puerto rican coconut dessert called Tembleque, which was my favorite. The name comes from the word "temblar" which means to tremble. Regular Jell-O just pales in comparison...

I did, however, get the all tucked in with movies royal treatment when I was sick. I wish my dad had made me these French toast. They were big fans of oatmeal for the "patients." Not quite so delicious...

(I guess my use of "source material" might've been weak. I meant J's situation, *not* your original recipe! :-D)
