Ten-Word Thursday: Coffee Shop Normal
Jun 11th, 2009 by Marilyn
Remember Ten-Word Thursday? It’s been months, but that particular invention sure comes in handy when you’re full of thoughts, but short on words. Apparently, it took us a full week to recover from our joyous Bat Mitzvah ordeal. There’s still plenty of that I’d like to share with you, but – well, full of thoughts, and more than ten. So while those stories cure, we’ll return to the quick shot of a Ten-Word Thursday; in this one I visit the coffee shop with my friend Melanie, and we sit and talk, and say way more than ten words, and nothing happens. After a solid two-month buildup of planning, running, solving and doing, this sort of nothing turned out to be something: necessary.

Productivity breakers.

Talk and talk…

…rain, coffee, normal.

As we like to say around here, coffee is no longer optional; as in, I don’t think we’re getting special benefits, like perkiness or open eyes – it’s just plain required. Do you have ten words on coffee? Spill.

Coffee: Early? Short, strong espresso. Sunday? Mine’s a cappucino, with chocolate.
Mine’s decaf cappucino, known to baristas as a “why bother”.
A gorgeous entry. Yes, coffee is as essential as water. Water, coffee, gin; my favorites.
I don’t like coffee, that probably makes me suspicious to many.
[ten words!]
Cradle mug’s warmth. Nose hovers above. Inhale Deeply. Time ceases.
We’ve had some great coffee drinking weather this week. On Monday, I think I even had to throw on a flannel shirt. That’s livin’.
I’m fond of “The Coffee Song” by Frank Sinatra.

Bottled Starbucks Frappaccino is my one and only coffee vice.
A cup filled with coffee says “now open for business”.
Coffee is my guilty pleasure. More per pound than parmagiano.
Companion, crutch, morning kitchen, newspaper and bathrobe, important routine, Home.
My, but you’re all full of words today. Love those coffee thoughts.
And welcome, TexasDeb, you’re right – nothing says “Open For Business” like steaming java.
Never tried coffee in over forty years. Too Late Now.
(ten words)
the only thing missing from that morning’s coffee was pie.
Don’t even think I could pull together ten words today…
(wait I just did!
Chocolate soy iced coffee
sipped in bathtub,

Mug of steaming nirvana, must have several
every single morning.
coffee,tea,tea,tea,tea,tea,tea,tea,tea,knitting!!!
There is nothing like the first iced coffee of summer.
Early morning snuggle. Warm hands. Blanketed lap. Rain on window.
Iced green tea latte with whipped cream, if you please.
I can’t imagine a world without cafes? “Over coffee?” is the invitation that begins all great love affairs.

I’m having a nice cup right now, with heavy cream….
Coffee is like air to a mother of a toddler.
