Ten-Word Thursday: Paris Flea Market
Jan 15th, 2009 by Marilyn
Ten-Word Thursday, an ongoing feature in which I’m forced to communicate an idea in just ten words. Specially designed to show my husband that I can shut it when necessary.
Today – a travel daydream and the one that got away? No problem.

Merde!
what slipped through your fingers?

The table of mix match silverware makes me want more.
Beautiful vignettes!
We went to a Disney surplus store this week. They had a wooden sign that said “cobbler” with a picture of an old victorian shoe…for $25 and I didn’t buy it. Assume the sign hung on “Mainstreet USA” for some time. I couldn’t deal with the “pack & ship” bs so I walked away. I kinda regret it…
I thought that book was more than it should be, and I walked – c’est la vie. Now I can’t find it anywhere – interwebs or otherwise. Grrr.
Such language, Marilyn!
The store looks like it must be full of fabulous finds.
I have a habit of perusing before I purchase. I figure if it’s meant to be, it will exist when I get back to it, whenever that is. Only when I leave a “find” and can’t stop thinking about it, do I know it’s meant for me. I have yet to go back to purchase an item and find that was no longer available. Either I’m incredibly lucky, or have really odd taste.
Oh, so many things I want in these pictures! I would be happy just to be wandering around Paris though. I can’t complain, I scored big time on my last trip to the antique shop. I got two beautiful crewel pictures that suit my house perfectly. Both were owned by the shopkeeper’s grandmother, one was even made by her. Great finds and a good story!
Oh my god, those bundles of silverware make me want to hop on the next plane. I haven’t been to Paris in 4 1/2 years and I am jonesing! The last time I was there, I let a GORGEOUS teapot slip through my fingers because I didn’t think we had room in our suitcases. Silly me!
Je ne regrette rien, but I so want that bust in the first photo.
C’est magnifique, Marilyn!
Just time…where does it all go?
