>> Sorry. I'm a little late to the party, as usual... <<

@Ella: I have tried (and loved) The Red Rooster on pizza. It was especially delicious on chicken pizza. I put it in spring rolls, on stir fries, you name it. The beauty of it is that it's got waaaay more flavor than just heat. But lordy, it does have some heat, too!

@Jayne: Sitting down with your mom and a box or two of photos is a lovely idea, and one you will never regret. The only regrets people have is when they never getting around to doing it.

@Sarah: I can't stop grinning as I imagine hearing grandparents telling you the story of their first date. As far as I'm concerned, that trumps any store bought Xmas gift.

@Heidi: OK, that's just too funny. For all ya'll, here's a picture of the handmade jams Heidi gave me for my birthday this year. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sallyjacobs/2906561631/
The peach was absolutely divine. I'm not sure I want to eat the spiced plum in my PB&J on toast...but it could be just the thing for meat. Any ideas?

@Marilyn: You are the hostess with the mostest, my dear! In lieu of a bottle of wine, here's a video drive through the ravines as my thank you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dvs5snyFZW0

OMG! Let's talk about minimal degrees of separation. A co-worker turned me on to this web site because she knows I'm a kitchen freak. While crusing through the posts (and drooling over the recipes, yum yum, what to make next?) what to I see but my friend Sally's name, a link to her blog and an interview! Freakin' weird. I love technology!

Those are all great tips, indeed - and I've got a few moving boxes full of photos that are calling my name. Thank you, Sally - it was lots of fun having you here and tripping down NTHS memory lane. Care for a drive in the ravines?

Great archiving tips! The most vital suggestion is to write down the stories behind each photo. Last Christmas, my husband and I sat with his grandmother and grandfather as they rifled through a huge box of photos from their youth. They laughed and cried and told wonderful stories about summers on the Jersey shore and winters in Brooklyn, how her brother set them up on their first date, and how his cousins were pranksters who kept everyone laughing. My husband and I are so grateful that we had the opportunity to hear these stories and understand the lives that were captured on film so many years ago.

Archiving my photos properly...I feel a winter project coming on. I can get together with my mom and have her tell me who all these people are in our family photos. :)

You could fill a whole post on that hot sauce, Siracha. It is divine. We discovered it 3 Thanksgivings ago when, trapped in traffic, we listened to an entire 3 hour cooking show (yes, on the radio) and the host went on and on about the sauce. We felt compelled to buy some the next day and have never looked back. Try it on Pizza.
