My Big Fat 90′s Cake Sketch
Nov 15th, 2008 by Marilyn
Homemade visuals normally get tossed into Drawing Board, but – it’s Saturday, and I’m much too lazy for a full-on post. And it’s not like you’ll be cooking today or anything. Surely on the weekend, reservations and wordless posts are best.

Anyway, found within a stack and then another stack of dubious food-sketchbook archives, here is my long-ago view of our Big Fat 90′s Wedding Cake, and it’s even more curl-explosive and toweringly white chocolate than I remember it. The other stray doodlings on the page lend a nicely extra-crazy air, no? With a fresh look at this a few years on, I can tell that the artist has recently married, and has not yet endured fifteen years of learning to fold t-shirts like her husband’s mother – clearly, the cake is all aglow.

I like your analysis of the sketch. Very insightful.
Snort!!! Love it. I type that as I look at a MOUNTAIN of laundry that’s been sitting in the livingroom for…oh….two….maybe….three….days.
Marilyn,
Gorgeous whimsical sketch and that last line made me laugh out loud.
