Parting Shots
Aug 10th, 2008 by Marilyn
Hitting the road this morning for Kansas again. Wanna see what I see the whole day?

We walked through the Chicago Botanic Gardens the other day, one of my very favorite places here on the North Shore.

Peace and serenity…

…constant excuses for macro zoom…

…and Josie running away in horror when I told her the bees won’t bother us. Because they’re busy bees.

‘Bye, mom and dad. Hope you enjoyed the meatballs, the mandelbread, the pantry bars and Josie’s high-pitched shrieks over Michael Phelps. We’ll see you soon, and sorry about all those Starbucks cups on the counter.
And now dear readers, as we head off to 600 miles of hypnotized husband, sports radio and the rolling hills of Iowa, I leave you with this parting shot. Remember the cheesy, inspirational kitty poster - hang in there?

I’m making my fortune on this little dude. “Keep your head above water!”*
*caption contest, anyone? If you can do better, leave your answer below. Most ducky answer wins a tiny little surprise!

LOL The first thing that came to mind was ‘Kiss this’ - its a country song!!! LOL Hope you have a great time up here in the great north!
How about, “Bottoms up!”
have fun on your long drive!
Momma said there’d be daze like this.
How about: Don’t duck responsibility
Love your pictures!
Wow - those pictures are amazing - The Water lily one reminds me of Monets Garden in France -
Have a good and safe drive.
Show us your best “asset”
“Good Mooning, any scones down here?”
“Ack! My contacts!”
or
“Goose Down!!”
Duck ala Orange you in need of a good GPS System?
duckside down?
Ah, all very cute! Cath (Cathy #1 up there) I believe that Theresa from T Does Wool also used “Bottoms Up!” on my Flickr page, so great minds think alike. Is that not the cutest duck rump, or what?
Home again, but I’ll leave this up a bit longer for late-coming captioners and flower-gazers.
“duck… and cover!”
ps- I have those blue pyrex mixing bowls too…the handles are so, er, handy…
DUCK!
ha–i adore your duck picture, and those are some great captions. i was thinking “bottoms up” too, and that’s about the extent of my creativity. i’m sure you’re glad to be home–good luck getting back into the swing of things!
Sarah S: my mom has had those bowls forever. And ever. I like their sort of satisfying cla-chunk when they hit the counter.
Rechelle, you are the soul of brevity, and you can tell the CD I said so.
I had that kitty poster. I bought it from some book club or Highlights maybe. Sadly, I can’t thnk of a good caption.
Love the pics, the “Horse Tail” (I think that is the name)reeds and the pattern and texture of that photo is great.
