Happy Father’s Day!
Jun 15th, 2008 by Marilyn
Happy Father’s Day to my dad, to Greg’s dad, all the other great dads out there and especially to Josie’s dad, Greg - who adores Josie, but also loves him some steak.

But this is not Greg’s steak. This is a friend’s steak in a restaurant last night. We were led to a table here in Lawrence and coincidentally seated next to a friend’s table, who was with three other people we didn’t know. When our friend’s food arrived, he looked over at me and said “so…are you going to photograph this for the blog?”
What, do I have a reputation? Furthermore, it should be noted that he told me, his server, his dining companions and anyone within earshot how fantastic it was. True that - Teller’s is delightful.
But back to Father’s Day. After years of shopping for cards as a daughter, granddaughter, daughter-in-law and wife, I’ve concluded that there are four major Father’s Day motifs: tools, golf, beer, grills. Now, Greg loves beer and meat - not so much golf and tools - so two out of four will have to do.
Happy Father’s Day to all of you Dads out there, and all of your wonderful dads, past and present. Get him a new tool, take him golfing, throw a few slabs on the grill and crack open a beer in his honor. Whoops! Almost forgot the fifth universal theme of Father’s Day - be sure and hand him the remote.

HA! I agree with your four Father’s Day motifs. However, I have to add a few more at our house sometimes …….camera equipment, chocolate, more chocolate and hazelnuts!
Happy Father’s Day to your family!
(I’m glad you didn’t take a picture of our lunch today……a few hints….not far from your house, it’s been missed, mine had spinach and feta, DV’s was “the Denver” and Emily’s was cheese……) YUM!
I am starving and I want steak…yer killin’ me!
Pam, hope DVS had a nice Father’s Day. Keep your fingers crossed for the re-opening of Papa Keno’s!
Jean, the Fiance cooked ya everything else BUT steak. Spoiled girl!
