What a delightful post! I feel much the same way about Rome. Your writing about Paris reminded me of such sweet encounters while in Rome. Serendipitous moments, for sure. I can hardly wait to hear about your return visit. Thank you again.

What a wonderful story. We had friends from France here for 3-4 years and they were a delight. They were described as "very French" and were maybe a little condescending to the "American ways and waste" but they were kind and generous to a fault. They were an eye opener and a breath of fresh air. Enjoy your stay!

Wonderful story!!! I love Paris. Sigh. I used to go at least once a year but haven't gone in a few years now due to the Euro/US$.

The first time I went to France I rented a house in Cannes with a dozen friends. I still dream of that house. No matter what you cooked in that house - it was flavorful, perfect in it's own way and fluffy. After a week of that I took a train by myself up to Paris. I silently watched all the older French couples on the train unpacking their picnic lunches with the most beautiful cloth & paper napkins. Then & there I vowed to never willingly use plain ugly white paper napkins ever again. On that trip the the dollar was strong and the franc was weak and I had to buy 3 more suitcases and pay a baggage fee to get home. I also bought a ton of Agatha costume jewelry. I love their stuff and the little scotty dogs. I miss going to Europe and bringing home an entire suitcase full of groceries.

Have a wonderful time, try not to fret about the currency conversion and make some more blissful memories to share!
