Note to self, never eat soup at Rechelle's house!

And I once made Rechelle's clam chowdah recipe. My family was, um, polite in their less than excited response. They do not allow me to deviate from the dinners that they know and love. Canned sea creatures definitely are NOT on their pre-approved dinner list.

I liked it though.

When my kids were little, and all the time they were growing up, we celebrated birthdays with breakfast in bed. The rest of the family would get up early and fix eggs and toast and fruit, pull a bloom from the patio and take the tray in early enough to pounce on the bed and wake the birthday boy/girl up. Breakfast and opening all the gifts was the tradition. We have lots of birthday pics with sleepy eyed celebrations in pajamas. As the kids got older, they began bringing my husband and I breakfast in bed for our birthdays, Mother's Day and Father's Day. I had my last breakfast in bed before my youngest left for college. By then, he had mastered a fantastic coffee cake, eggs over-easy and a decent cup of coffee. He'll be home for Mother's Day this year. Hmmmmm. :-)

Re: breakfast in bed, maybe you can start delivering the kids' allowance when breakfast is "served". LOL

Honestly, Rechelle is a nut. A funny nut, but altogether a nut. And that is probably why I continue to read her blog.
