How do I make these a savory scone. I subbed the chcoco and the Orange for Bacon and Cheddar and they taste lile bacon covered in syrup and while.. it's interesting (any yummie depending if you like that) I want it to have a more savory taste. HELP!... ( I know it has something to do with the sugar... but how much do I cut out?)

These are exquisite. And I've been meaning for some time to comment on your beautifully crystal-clear process shots—they always make me feel like you're standing at my right shoulder whispering encouragement. And I need it!

Found this after googling "When is a scone done?" because the ones outta the book I'm reading seem undone.

This is the most entertaining reading I've had in awhile!

Can you tell me, when is a scone done? I went for almost twice the bake time in the book and I have a pretty good oven.

Did I make them too thick?

And can I get the nutrional info for the lovely scone written to lavishly about? I'm making these for my daughter so I need a heart healthy version!

Thanks!

With proper mixing and the right number of eggs, these scones are moister than the British version, and will never need a glaze.

That's OK, I figured it out. They actually tasted pretty good after they had sat and soaked up the thin glaze I put on them.

Hmmm.. it's 6:45 am. and I want to make scones.. Is it alright to go to the grocery store in Jammies to pick up cream? I can't believe I've been caught without heavy cream in my refrigerator.
