Kitchen Rises to First Occasion

Yesterday, for the first time, I asked my new kitchen to work very hard for me.

I asked it to think like a bakery kitchen,

and to hand me everything I needed fast, like a good sous chef.

I asked it not to mind if I stirred things up…

…and to look the other way if I turned the place upside-down.

I asked it to think big,

but still feel cozy and small.

I told it in no uncertain terms that I was counting on it to help me clean up quick.

And my kitchen said bring it.
